Gavin Newsome is no friend to hunters period. His father was responsible for stopping lion hunting 30 years ago and Gavin is from the same mold. Besides being an absolute idiot.

I 100% agree. But that has nothing to do with AB3030 which is the topic of this thread. No doubt if this had support he would likely sign off on it.

My point was if you are going to target this bill and send letters to the assembly members, please be sure to blast the author and note the author in the letters and not just send random letters to Newsom about this when it’s nowhere near his desk.

Governor ronald regan signed the initial moratorium in 1972
Governor Pete Wilson had an opportunity for it to sunset and renewed it.

A moratorium is not a Forever ban/ law. But the Newsomes worked to push it through.

The idea of cougar protection (ban) started under a Republican governor and was supported by follow up Republican governors. To somehow suggest ca wildlife failures is a Democrat problem is disingenuous and misleading. Both sides fail wildlife here on the daily

This is the afterbirth of the Marine protected area. Coastal folks like the idea of protecting certain marine"habitat" from fishing and closed it. This seeks to expand those closures and further rope off 30% of terafirma. Bad legislation with no scientific support.

Yeah, what a douche bag this Gov Newsome and the state legislature is.

They think "Green" is NOBODY USES IT EVER. So stupid. Already no fishing in the lakes providing SF drinking water....Hetch Hetchy, Calaveras res and Crystal Springs.

The gov has us- the Bay Area "On his [naughty] watchlist" shut down restaurants indoor seating and such...but of course HIS wineries are open...and a buddy went by his bar the Balboa in SF 2 weeks ago and wall to wall people no one wearing masks.

The hypocrisy of these politicans is unbelievable.

Before you all go into this head down and thinking the petition is accurate, why not read the bill text here: http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200AB3030

I read most of it, did a few searches, etc. No mention of the words "hunt" or "restrict". "Fish" comes up 3 times but only in the context of "Fish and Game".

Can someone please tell the rest of the folks what they are signing and whether it even effects hunters? I couldn't see anything in there that states clearly how this would affect us.
