Redcliff stove pipe length

I am picking up a Redcliff hot tent "bundle" and it includes a 7.5' stove pipe. This seems a bit on the short side to avoid burn holes for this tent and seems you could add another foot without too much wind trouble. Anybody have experiential opinion you can share....go longer, or not to worry about the 7.5' length?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Don't have the length at hand but I run quite a bit longer at times. I use a flexi elbow at the stove and run the stovepipe up and out at an angle.

It gives me some wiggle room with stove placement, but mostly it gives some extra chimney length inside the shelter, which in turn gives off more heat.

I guess I could have posted a pic for reference with a 7’ pipe and a large seek outside stove

svivian.....thanks for the pics. That makes me more comfortable with the proposed 7.5 ft length in the hot tent package. Much appreciated!

I believe that ideally you want 2' above the peak. If your burning wet wood I would want at least that. Stove burning in lbo/vest right now.IMG_5798.JPG

This is a Redcliff with a 7.5’ pipe when I was burning the stove in. 7.5’ is plenty adequate IMO.

Running 8’ and it works like a charm (Redcliff with large stove).
Her are some pictures. Kids were off school and wanted me to setup the tent to play in while I WFH. Also threw in some interior pics that show how the nest fits inside the tent. The nest definitely holds two regular sized people with some free space.

I am still breaking this tent in but very glad I went with 8’.
