Red head lamp

I run the Petzl Swift RL, has red, several white light modes up to 1100 lumens and has a sensor that dims when you are staring at someone. Reflective headband and super lightweight. Battery pack or rechargeable.

I did find that an aftermarket battery from battery n bulbs would not work in my Sofirn. Light would flash when turned on and that was it. Put the factory battery back in and all was good.

77Outdoor model, same as Sofrin is on sale right now for Prime Day on Amazon for 23.99.

I'm in the same boat as you, 95% of the red lights on the market are only 5 lumens and you can't see more than your feet in front of you. I want something that will allow me to navigate through the dark, so I am trying the one I mentioned above.

I have the 77 model, as stated the red is great the white is ok, tough to beat for the money!

I think red or green is similar as far as animals seeing it, the green seems a little brighter to my eyes and closer to white than the red.
