it's in the extreme SE corner of the state- mostly sagebrush/prairie country, with a little rolling Ponderosa Pine country mixed in- no mountains; I used to work/live in that area and I know there was some nice bulls, but a lot of folks probably would never dream about hunting elk there- mule deer and antelope yes, elk not so much- but guessing a little more now :)

And that's the problem with social media and publicizing a kill like this.

I knew a guy in MT that shot a 416 bull a few years ago with his recurve, yet no one even knew he got a bull that year. It was months later after prying it out of him that I even found out about it. He shot it in an area like this. That's why he kept his mouth shut.

I lived and worked in this area all last year and am afraid your right. The area is heavily roaded and open, and this bull will change the hunting there forever. I probably won't even hunt it next year and I know exactly where this bull was killed. Had a trail cam set up a mile from where he died and never did catch a picture.
