New here and specifically to the high deserts of Arizona.
What is your recommendation for an all around good day pack or scouting pack?
Thanks in advance.

Check out the reviews here on the Stone Glacier Tokeen and Badlands ATX 25. I’ll have a review of the Seek Outside Silverton up soon.

The Tokeen and Silverton are designed for use on their own for scouting or just general hiking, but can also be used in conjunction with their frame setup.

For day hunts (daypack + frame) it’s the way to go. Kill something several miles in you have the capability to haul a full load of meat.

Both the Tokeen and Silverton have enough volume for bulky layers in late season hunts. I’ve even squeezed out two and three trips with them.

I think you’ll have a lot of recommendations for the Kuiu venture 1800/2300 as well. It’s a great pack if you aren’t carrying heavy loads. Particularly when you can find it on a good sale (around 100$)

These are a solid deal if you don’t want to break the bank

The Mountain Hardware SL 35 makes a good scouting pack. It can handle about 3 days or so of supplies. Very light and can be had for a little over $100. The side pockets can be cut inside to function as a spotter pocket.
