Recommendation on first rifle?

If you are looking for a suppressor ready rifle I’d go the Ruger American Gen 2 or the American ranch gen2. Both are threaded. One it 20” and the other is 16”.

Got this gun at Sportsmans for $560 plus tax.

I have been waiting for these rifles to come out for a few months. I was looking for something compact and light for stalking black bears in Arizona. My 22in Browning with the Dead Air Ti attached feels like a civil war musket it is so long. This rifle has a 16in barrel and I knew I would lose a bit of velocity, but it is so light and compact it will be much easier to carry in remote and thick brush. I settled on the 6.5 Creedmoor because of ammo availability and the ability to go from 90gr to 156gr for different game. I put a vortex 4-16x50...

If you are willing to find a rifle and chop and thread I’d find a tikka. Tikka is always the first option around here.

Defiantly not interested in doing any work on the rifle. Thought about the rugers but the blade trigger seems annoying. I almost bought a rancher first time I saw it (love the look) but my buddy convinced me I’d be giving up too much velocity.

I’d be giving up too much velocity.

Not enough to make a difference at 250. Im currently chopped all my rifles to 16”.

Done some soul searching and came up with what’s important to me. Found a bergara wilderness for $650 I almost pulled the trigger on but it’s on the heavy side and have yet to do it.

What I want:
-stainless or cerakoted
-22” or shorter
-light weight
-hinged floor plate is preferred
-single stage trigger (my muzzy is two stage and It’s bothersome)
- ~$1000 for the rifle

Christiansen Arms Mesa FFT is absolutely gorgeous but has some mixed reviews.

This should have everything but the hinged floorplate. Roughtech stock has a nice feel to it. Add a $20 vertical grip and go shoot stuff.
