Was shooting yesterday when one of my Rokstok limbsavers began to delaminate from its plastic base on the buttstock as I whipped it through some Hunter drills. This is a pretty heavily used stock that’s been through several members, so not a mark against its quality by any means, but looking for some feedback from others who may have encountered/fixed something similar.

It’s the rubber portion that’s separating from the plastic plate that mounts to the stock:

Option 1: glue it back down with something? what?
Option 2: replace with another limbsaver assembly? Does a regular Tikka one fit?

I would take it off so the screws don't get filled and reattach with black silicone, let it dry and reinstall. Be careful reinstalling because the cf is not real thick where the screws go in.

I bet if you call stocky’s they will either sell you a recoil pad or tell you the sku so you can buy one that’s pre-fit. It wouldnt stop me from fixing what you have but in case it doesnt work long term, recoil pads are cheap.

Liking that biathlon setup. What states are setting up irons-only seasons?

Rokstoks haven’t been out that long. So, if it were mine, it would be a mark against quality unless I would have already gone through several barrels on the rifle that was in it. I have seen other reports of this problem.

When the issues with the pitting in the carbon were brought up I remember reading “what do you expect for $550”.
Maybe it’s the same for the recoil pad as well.

Can I get the link for that clamp on front sight?

Mark against limbsaver. Limbsaver needs to up their glue game. I put essentially same pad on a older mcmillian, did same thing

That may be, but I didn’t buy this one new and I’m not going to run them down for a heavily used product I bought that had been through two other forum members that are well known for putting a LOT of rounds downrange.

I think it’s a pretty early version, maybe one of the prototypes, based on the differences between it and the first batch stock that I bought new from UM.
