Anybody have pictures of their Reckoning with a load on the meat shelf? I am curious to how you hook the top of the bag back to the frame. The top sides could go back to the frame, but wasn't completely sure of top since you wouldn't be able to slip the pocket over the frame.

I can load mine up this evening and take some pictures for you. Basically you use extra straps (extra straps will come with the bag when purchased; guide lid kit straps) and you can hook the open ended females onto the tab loops on the top of the frame, then run the k clip with strap and male buckle from the tab loops (lid attachment point) on the top of the bag, and attach it straight across. With a guide lid, detach whatever connector is hooking the lid to the top of the bag, it's either going to be the k clip and strap or open ended female, and attach that to the tab loops on the frame.

There's a bunch of ways you can actually do it, I'll try and do the pictures this evening showing a few ways. It's really cool that the system lets you do it a number of ways.

Kifaru website has 2 videos on the Reckoning. The second has Aron showing the meat shelf and compression use.

Ok I've got some pictures. Gonna try and explain this as easy as I can. I did it 3 ways.

1st way -- put open ended females on the tab loops at the top of the frame. Shown in picture 1. Then attach k clip with strap and male buckle to the tab loop for the lid. Picture 2. Then connect them and tighten.

2nd way -- same thing with the female buckle on the frame. Attach k clip with male buckle to the top of the guide lid. Then run over the top to the frame. (Sorry for the twisted straps). That would make it from the frame to lid to bag for compression.

3rd way -- least desirable to me but would work if you forgot extra straps. Move the vertical compression straps from the back (they attach to the lid). Move them from the bottom daisy chain to the furthest one you can get up. My thumb and middle finger show what I mean in the picture. Then run the strap up and over the top and attach to frame.

I'm with Aron though when he says you don't really need the top compression unless your hooking antlers up. I carried a sheep cape this fall in between the 22 mag and frame and thought I would want the top compression and didn't need it at all, basically same concept here. To each their own though, hopefully this is some info.

Bigger side view on the first method. It's really easy to change and "make up" your own way of hooking things up. Just takes a little playing.

Jordan, thank you for showing us. I absolutely love it what you did there.

I'll probably order my Reckoning tomorrow.

Your welcome! I am really liking the pack and it's features. Tomorrow I'll be posting a video showing a little of how I set it up for "day mode". Very solid setup they have come up with!

Thanks man! I actually have this pack and was playing with it last night. I saw there was several ways as well, just wanted to see what others were doing. I like the first method you did. This is my first pack(not counting my cheap whitetail pack). Pretty awesome quality. I am about to try it out on a weekend trout fishing hike in. I want to tryout my gear before making my first trip to Colorado next sept. Also a good excuse to get back out and trout fish . It's Been a while since I have made time for trout.

I hope to see this as well! I will keep an eye out for the video, but where will you be posting it? on here, on youtube, or somewhere else?

It will be posted up in the new Photography section this afternoon. May also link back to it here in the backpack section.

No pics of the water bladder with meat shelf mode?

It would work the same, you'd just have the bladder in between the meat and the bag. Or you could run the bladder in a side pocket. I don't think it'd be a problem though, I would recommend a good durable water bladder, so when your cranking the compression straps it doesn't leak or explode.
