What's everyone's take on the rear gear panel from marsupial?
I'm not so sure I trust velcro enough to be the only connection to my bino bag
Edited. It connects to your bino harness via gate clips. Whatever you choose to attach is only connected by velcro.
Looks cool based on the video I watched on YouTube. I didnt see the price but like everything I'm sure its ridiculous for what it is. You could probably make your own for alot less
I’m generally not a fan of Velcro either. That being said, the Exo packs use Velcro to hold the shoulder straps to the pack and I never had an issue with those moving on me which I originally thought I would. When I first heard about this rear gear panel I envisioned a molle panel, however with Velcro you do get infinite adjustment for angle and placement of the accessories and likely the same performance/robustness. I think my bigger concern is dirt, that looks like a giant dirt/debris trap. I don’t go through a lot of brush but could see crap getting stuck to that panel pretty easily. I expected an $80 price so $60 seems on par with their pricing and makes sense they aren’t pricing it above the Guardian.Edited.
I can just see it get real hairy with the weight of a pistol as that velco starts to wear. Not to mention drawing said pistol
Ya definitely understand that. There is definitely a big difference in types of velcro for sure. So really depends what they used i guessEdited.

The would for sure be an improvement over the bungee. I'm gonna try out the eclipse holster with the marsupial rear setup. It pleases me that they offer a lefty holster for my staccato cI was thinking, for retention, it should feature a thumb break with a pull the dot snap instead of a bungee. On the draw, it seems there is an extra step involved with the bungee. Whereas with a thumb break, it’s all one movement and still very secure. You all’s thoughts on this?

I would love to try out the JC but they have no plans to make a staccato holster. So eclipse it will beI got an email JC Customs is offering a Velcro panel on his holsters now too.
This will be the 4th different holster/bino carrying system I run for a whole season. I'm hopeful it will be the last so I can stop banging my head against the wall searching for the ideal setup.I purchased the back panel and paired it with the cell phone holder and holster for a Glock 43. Spent one day wearing it last week and first impressions are that I really like it. I've tried several other bino harnesses but I still come back to the Marsupial, so to me this is a great accessory.
As to the holster / velcro. It is solid and I am not worried about the velcro attachment. You have to put some effort into just readjusting the holster once it is attached. The holster securely holds the firearm and I don't believe it needs any other retention device (bungee, thumb strap, etc.). I've carried a firearm nearly everyday for the past 31+ years, and I am more than comfortable with this holster setup, or at least for the one I received.
Obviously this is not a long term review, but as of right now I would recommend it.
