REAPER vs AIRLOCK vs PTR VENT 1 vs NOMAD TI-XC vs DD ENTICER LTI TITANIUM SHOOTOUT

Where would this be held?
NW Montana, most likely Lincoln county.

Snow depths will be the final determination. As of now, it'll be at a place guys can poke out to about 1250 yds with steel at various ranges. Ultimately the goal is to get a chance to hear and use the suppressors.

Question is if TBAC will step up their game. Over the last 2 years I haven’t seen any real innovation on their part and less desire to follow the consumer demand for replaceable end caps and OTB’s.
Agree with this. The RR with the integral brake is their biggest "new tech", but that's also a big step in the industry as a while. You can now add a brake to most suppressors that take a replaceable end cap. I would like to add that they opened the doors with their HUB cans though. I didn't buy any TBAC products before this, because I like running different mounts. I've since bought multiple TBAC hub compatible cans and have been quite happy. I just think the industry is gaining on them quickly.

When are you thinking the meet up would be? Troy montana has a nice shooting range, but snow might be an issue depending on when you plan to meet

So I don't want to talk to soon, but I would say the ultra 2 is no longer the gold standard......

Yea they are still the gold standard in my opinion. I own 5 suppressors and the TBAC seem to be the most accurate and built the best. Quality and backed by a legit company that has been around for a long time. I’m excited to test my Magnus and Dominus against the airlock

That would be the range in my back yard. It's a very nice shooting complex.

We will try to host this in the next 2 weeks, before weather becomes a bigger issue.

As of now, it will be held at a public land "range" that we have set up. It is outside of Eureka, MT 59917 for those needing approximate drive time.

You sure you don’t want to do this in Billings? 😂😂

Would love to attend, but I’m a little too far away. Looking forward to your results!

Yeah man, I realize it will be tough for some guys to attend. The other issue will be schedules....I am just going to pick a day and post it, hoping most can make it.

I've gotten a lot of questions, here is some info on what we will be looking at. Open to suggestions, but realize we will not be able to cover every single scenario.

SUPPRESSOR REVIEW TESTING

Here are the main criteria we will be looking at. Being this is an END USER review, these are important factors aside from the already published decibel/sound reductions, dimensions and other manufacturer details.

When comparing side by side, the same rifle will be used. There will be numerous platforms ran.

-FIRST ROUND “POP”

-TONE

-AUDIBLE PERCEIVED EFFECT “APE” (this is purely subjective opinion)

-POI SHIFT

-TEMP AFTER 6 ROUNDS IN ONE MINUTE (we are NOT torture testing-this has been done, and we are coming from a hunter perspective)

-MIRAGE-none, minimal, considerable (from 1-4 rounds, simulating a multi-engagement string of fire, i.e. pack of wolves)

EVAL PRIORITIES RATED 0-10

1. SOUND SUPPRESSION

2. WEIGHT

3. SIZE

4. AVAILABILITY

5. COST

SECONDARY CONSIDERATIONS

BALANCE

DURABILITY

WARRANTY

SHOT SIGNATURE-SUCH AS BLAST/FIREBALL

“BLIND” TEST

5 PEOPLE WITH ZERO SUPPRESSOR KNOWLEDGE STANDING BEHIND SHOOTER, FACING AWAY, PERCEIVED QUIETEST CAN. THIS WILL BE DONE 1V1 UNTIL THERE IS 2 REMAINING

SECOND TEST, THE SAME GROUP WILL BE DOWN RANGE IN A SAFE AREA TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AND GIVE OPINION ON QUIETEST CAN.

**Disclaimer! While this test is both subjective and objective, no participants have any affiliation with any of the manufacturers. This is a comparison from a hunters’ end user perspective. Subject to modification of categories prior to completion.

I love it. My only qualm might be with using availability. It is likely to be all or nothing and change frequently over time. If it's based on company size and estimated production rates, I think it would be helpful.

Agreed, but we kept it in there as a factor, because if a guy were to buy his first and only suppressor, and has to wait 9 months, that sways a decision-especially if their is another can that closely checks the boxes.
