WNC is mostly nuthin' but stems and seeds ... LOL
Peanuts, soy beans, corn. And they don’t hibernate. What are these bears eating? A 400# bear out west is a big bear. Our bears tend to be more muscular and less round. Ours do hibernate as well.
Talked to a guy that runs a hunting operation when I was there a few months ago. These big boys tend to live in the great dismal swamp area and feed in the surrounding ag fields. They never hibernate and cruise around above 500# on the regular. Not sure how verifiable, but I have heard it said in multiple places (articles, tv shows, Shockey, etc.) that they are the largest black bears in the world.Peanuts, soy beans, corn. And they don’t hibernate.
WNC always seemed to be similar to where I’m at in WV. I bet getting that thing out was a chore. That said, there was a near-700-pounder killed in WNC this year ....(western NC) ...
Same here - not liking the optical illusion type photos folks put out.big bear. It would be nice to see a picture of it with the guy next to it to get a more realistic veiw of its size.
