I have an 18” Bergara. Factory 143 Precision Hunter gets 2585. Factory Federal Gold Metal Match with 130 Hybrids gets 2700. Measured with Garmin Xero. You can gain a little bit hand loading if you mind your powder selection.

Bumping this thread. Anyone got velocities with 120gr or smaller? Going to be building a 6 or 6.5 creed and trying to figure out if a 18” 6.5 creed shooting 120s would get me into the 2800s.
2645 with a book load with 123's ELDM's. out of a 16" inch barrel bolt gun.

I have some 120's to work next. I suspect with some N550 or Varget or RL16 all will perform well enough to get into the 2800 if I push it. I bet with the 18" and 120's with a book load will get you there or super close.

I have gently stepped on some 130's and 135's and even 127's and touched low 2700's.

If you already jumped on it, and went 6 creed. also good luck, I am gonna build a 6 prc next I think

Thanks. After talking with some folks I’m going to use my older tikka action to build a 6CM. Throwing an 18” proof Sendero on it and putting it in a HNT26 chassis. Should be a sweet little package.

Old thread, but considering this post, and my own questions about hand loading for my rifle…

6.5 Creedmoor:
- Pristine action
- 18” Proof Carbon, 7.5” twist, Sendero profile
- HNT26 Chassis
- TBAC Ultra 7 (always on)

Currently using factory ammo, but looking to replicate the 130TGK factory velo with a TGK or a TMK.

Sierra factory 130gr Gamechangers ( TGK),
LR chrono @ 2750fps at 3100ft elevation, 50°F. Sub-moa in 5 shot groups

Sierra factory 140gr Gamechangers
LR chrono @ 2550fps at same elev/temp, same sub-moa results.

I’m hoping to find a 2024 powder combo that’ll help me get those same speeds with hand loads, since I already have the gear, and components break down to ~$1.75/rd, and I like to shoot a lot. Otherwise the factory ammo is an easy winner.

I’ve yet to try any powders but StaBALL 6.5, and VV N555 are on my current list. Any hot tips appreciated!

Staball 6.5 and RL-16 are good for that, but these days Staball is a lot easier and cheaper to get.

Wouldn't recommend the 45 grain load in most brass as it's a bit warm in my latest batch of Starline.

Hey thanks, that’s a quick reply with some data I can work with!

Next question …which app / chrono are you displaying that from? 👍🏻 Pretty f’ing thorough…I feel like I’m doing it wrong 😆
