Hi All, just got back from Alaska for Brown Bear (unsuccessful). My only gear failure my Gloves. I had Kuiu Yukon Pro and they were soaked thru day 1 of seven. Once wet, nothing will dry up there. What are the effective alternatives. I was so disappointed I actually left them there in gear shack for hunters that arrive and forgot something.

Anything will have the risk of leaking. Look at the issues people have with boots leaking. I have some Yukon gloves and before going to AK I took them and 2 others to the sink and held my hands under water while flexing my hands for a few minutes. The Yukon were the only ones to not leak. You could check some of the brands marketed to fishing.

Orange rubber commercial fishing gloves with 3 pairs of light inserts to trade out once they get wet from sweat. Thow the damp one in the bottom of thr sleeping bag with the socks and will be dry by morning. Just like rain gear, your hands can get wet from gortex wetting out, or hand eventually sweating from using rubber gloves. Any "breathable" expensive glove will eventually get soaked if you cant dry them out every night.

Too many seams for a fabric construction to remain waterproof. The Showa product appears to have solved that issue.

Fisherman rubber gloves or trapper gloves are waterproof but need liners for warmth.
