We have both.

The fake tree is in the main room, as it’s obviously so much fuller than a real tree.

The real tree goes in the play room. It’s a family activity to cut one down every year.

I like real trees better. Grew up with a real tree. But I've used a fake tree for the last 10 years. There's no where close by to cut our own trees. Coupled with the quality of commercial Christmas trees around here going down and the price going up, it's a lot easier to grab the fake tree out of the storage shed. I've been contemplating using one of those essential oil warmers and getting some pine oil to give it that traditional smell.

I like real but my wife is allergic so its a fake one which is handy i just leave it put together and store it and carry it up stairs when she wants it

Real. My grandfather (great 101 year old 10th Mountain soldier) doesn't like any Christmas tree, he says fake is bad because it symbolically represents cutting down a real tree. So, something about that makes going out and cutting a real tree even better. It is also a fun family activity.

Real and alive. I got a dwarf Alberta spruce for $39. It’s going to live in my dining room for the foreseeable future.

Last thing anyone needs is more plastic/synthetic material in their home.

We go on a mountain tree mission every year with the family and chop one, fun tradition. Plus after the holidays you can drag the tree onto your favorite lake and come springtime you'll have some great crappie fishin'. Real trees for life.

The way I think about it is that a fake tree is a symbol of a real tree. The wooden tree is a symbol of the Cross (Happy birthday but lets not forget His mission). Symbol of a symbol is getting kinda distal.

There's probably only three lots in the city (pop. 700k) that sell real trees (plus Home Depot, I guess). The tree we'd grab for the house would cost a couple hundred bucks.

On the drive to the range a couple weeks ago counted nearly 100 trees headed back into the city from the national forest. $10 each, buddy. Kids love it. Same trees the local lots sell. Fresh tree lasts through the end of the Epiphany season, without watering.

Headed out tomorrow afternoon.

I always had real trees......always a Noble Fir. They just always have that Christmas tree appearance, as opposed to the trimmed farm ones that are cut to have that shape.

But a couple years ago my wife wanted a pre-lit fake tree, so that's what we have. Really the only thing I miss is the real tree smell.

this year we decided to go full fake tree. Use to get real ones every year, but decided we are done paying $130 bucks for a tree. Probably go cut down some spindally thing every other year up in the mountains.

I'm surprised by the number of fakes, but might be a little biased because they are like weeds where I live
