Man, if those are real honest-to-God numbers, I need to buy an Evolve.

As real as the owner of the shop shootIn my arrow through the Chrono. May actually be a little faster because I bumped it up to a 27” draw from his advice. I think a used Evolve may be the best value on the market. I used to be a Mathews guy, but I’m really loving this bow.

Went with the Easton Axis 6mm for a total arrow weight of 353 before adding 125 grain tip.

Running a 27.5" draw at 66#'s but will max out at 70-71 and hope to around 250FPS for both whitetail and elk.

This thread was helpful!

Can one of you fellas run this through one of those programs?? I’d be interested to see what it says.

I’ll shoot through chrono next time I go to shop

Mathews Triax 70#/30"
Nock On Match Grade FMJ 300 - 579 gr total arrow weight
264 fps and I have no worries about the speed for any species I'm hunting this year (pronghorn, deer, and elk). It's the quietest rig I've seen on the range this year.

Seems like everyone is targeting close to the same speeds and weight for elk.

I am building arrows now, looking to be around 260fps, 540g - 71.5#, 28.5"

I would say your correct. Roughly 5-10 FPS below IBO but I’m not concerned about speed. I just wanted to be below 280.

Just for my curiosity, why below 280?

I was more concerned with arrow trajectory and am around 250fps.

I have heard a lot lately that bows are the easiest to tune between 250-280. Maybe he feels the same? I have not tuned enough bows in my life to know if that is true or not.

As a shooter around 250, do you notice much difference between 250 and 260? My arrows are still being built, so I do not have a 100% peg on what my arrow weight will be, but I am hoping to get to 258-260 with a 525g-540g arrow.

I will let you know when I turn my poundage up! No issues tuning where I’m at right now. Arrow weight is 478
