Razor HD Gen 1 Cold Weather Failures?

Hello,

I was about to pull the trigger on a Vortex Razor HD Gen 1 20-60x85 Spotting Scope (Sportsman’s Warehouse deal) until I watched the below video and read this thread on another forum. Has anyone on here had issues with the magnification rings freezing up on theirs?

I will get an Athlon Ares otherwise, but I like the more compact size and greater fov on the Razor.

If it says Vortex on the side, it will more than likely give you problems. Cannot speak on the Athlon.
