I hate this thread.
A few years ago turkey hunting our place in Alabama, I just about stepped on a 4 ft long timber rattler that was stretched out in the sun along the shade line of a field. Thankfully it rattled. That was probably the last time I ever shot a 3.5 inch #5 from a 12 gauge during turkey season. Vaporized the head at 3 yards.
Last September we had a crew come from Arkansas to do some hack n squirt a 50 acre section of mixed upland pines and hardwoods on our place. They killed a dozen timber rattlers while doing so. Told my uncle he should pay them more just for that.
