Why do these R rated horror shows and other grotesque movies get to be pushed during ball games and during family shows? If you don't have cable, and you are on a streaming service, they love to push LGQBT commercials at you over and over. I don't want my grand kids seeing this junk!!!!!!!!!!

Youtube ads aren't much better. I gave up tv and reading the news several years ago and I don't miss any of it. I do watch a few youtube videos and get stupid ads on there occasionally. The people on the other end don't share the same values that many of us do. It's all about making money at any cost.

We haven't had TV in well over a decade, getting close to 20 years I think. Pulled the plug on that degenerate garbage. Don't miss it one bit.
Now and then we go for a beer and a burger and see all these people jumping up and down and hooting and hollering like children over a bunch of grown men chasing after a ball, mezmerized by the flashing light of the electric hypno- box...
The commercials are just a poke in the eye on top of it all. Makes me glad we gave it up, and I feel sorry for people addicted to it the same way I feel sorry for a crack-addicted street hooker. There's just so many better things to do than sit on out butts staring at the TV with our mouths hanging open.

Gave it up 14 years ago and glad I did. Life is so much better and more important than anything on the tv. Except ufc fights. lol. I do purchase espn plus just for that and stream it.

The moral degradation of society is pushed down the throats of anyone watching anything mainstream. From baseball through pro football, it’s all being groomed to feed that crap to the kiddos. Thing is most adults don’t think about it or, think it won’t affect their kids. So, it’s left to its own.

That media is produced by people who don’t share your values. In fact, one could argue that they’re actively working to destroy traditional values and redefine what’s normal in society through the media they produce. And it’s working. Might be time to consider not consuming that stuff.

Adds don’t “get to be pushed” TV is not a public service, it is a commercial money making enterprise.
The broadcast companies follow the money.
Apparently that where the money is, & the money is not in wholesome family values.

If tv is affecting the up bringing of your kids better look in the mirror its not the tv's fault
I think the frustration isn't that it's affecting how the OP is raising kids but he feels like a football game is something age appropriate for his kids but the ads that they play are not. We deal with that in our house. To the OP one solution is mute the tv during ads. My kids are way less likely to be glued on the TV if the sound is muted.

Not being confrontational here, and that is sometimes hard to convey on the internet.

I don't buy the money being in LGBTQlmnop ads. What percentage of the population is that add directed at? It can't be a larger percentage of population, or more importantly in the case of a ball game, the viewing audience, than a non LGBTQlmnop add, can it? Now, if it is a product that specifically applies to the demographic, maybe.

I think it is more of the ad people getting caught up in the woke movement or trying to be cutting edge. Remember when Gillette ran an add that was practically anti masculinity? Unbelievable.

That’s a reductive perspective and Not 100% true. Like it or not, NO kid is unaffected by the society they grow up in - even if they do not watch TV. Humans are social being and socialization is a part of growing up. Kids will be affected by the soup they are boiled in. The ads on TV/ internet become the soup and what’s shown is intentional.

This attitude is depressingly comical. There is a narcissistic, megalomaniacal, sociopath at the head of a major world government, instituting sweeping measures that will negatively affect the life and well being of millions of people. And you're worried about a TV commercial advocating for basic human rights? Maybe it's time to reevaluate what really matters.

He's always throwing out unsubstantiated garbage to see if it sticks. Glad others can see through it.

The leaders of Canada, France, and North Korea have nothing to do with USA commercials. Guess people have difference perceptions of basic human rights as well….

If the NFL said we’re not paying you to broadcast our game if you are running those ads the tv station would listen.

Maybe those ads are not hitting home with nfl watchers. But they have hordes of bean counters predicting the best way to make the most income.

Regardless of personal views everyone’s entire job is to produce the most income.

Now are they subsidized by the government who knows.

We watch ball games and TV on antenna, don't typically see ads like that on antenna broadcast channels and it's free so goes along well with how cheap I am. I think there's a whole demographic of "normal" people out there who don't do anything outdoors like us, they go to work and go home and watch TV, and they're the primary users of streaming services and tend to lean a little more light in the loafers so that type of ad ends up hitting the streaming services harder.
