In the market for a new range finder and wanted to ping everyone on here for their recommendations. I’ll need it for rifle and bow with angle compensation. What are y’alls thoughts?

I run the Vortex Razor 4000. I’m really impressed with it. I’ve compared it to others I’ve owned such as the Sig 2000, Black 4k, Monarch 3000 stabilized. Long story short it’s the only one I own now. Depending on your budget there might be better options, but for the price with their mil program it’s hard to beat!
 
I had a Sig Kilo 2000... always did fine at the range. Lazed steel targets out to 1k no problem.

Then I took it out west and had issues getting readbacks past 4-500 yards.

I’ve switched to a Fury 5000 for my primary optic/rangefinder. The one lens has a slightly different hue which bothers some, but I find I don’t notice it after glassing a while. Really nice to not have to do the “optic shuffle” when I spot an animal.

ETA I’m primarily a rifle hunter. I could see where a dedicated rangefinder would be nice for bow hunting.
 
I have a Vortex 1800. It was the only rangefinder I could find where the electronics with lifetime warranty. I was previously using a Bushnell 500 I bought when I was 14 (1999).
 
I have a Sig 2000 that I struggle ranging game and even cows past 500-600 yards. My Nikon has peformed pretty well out to mid500s on deer sized game.
My Leica 2400 crf is doing well for my needs at this time.
 
I’m running the discontinued Swarovski 8x30 laser guide......I know it’s WAY outdated buts still working for my purposes can be had pretty cheap second hand glass is nice.
 
Sig Kilo 3000 BDX use in AMR mode.
Can also use with BDX riflescope. V-2.0scopes are out soon apparently.
 
Leica is it for me. Have had about 6 of them ( i get a new one every couple years ) Have also had sig and never used them much after comparing to Leica. Cameraland has the Leica 2700 for $550 nothing even close to it in that price range i think.
 
I run a Leupold rx-1600, it’s as solid as it gets. I’ve had vortex and Nikon before, Leupold is top notch clarity
 
Leica for me as well. The new 3500 will be very interesting. With the new laser it may be a substantial increase in useable range, especially from non-reflective targets. I dont need the range for shooting, but it's now possible to range far enough that it can be used for route planning.

I'm just not sure how the Leica's perform at close range for bow hunting.

  • Internal barometric and temperature sensors measure atmospheric conditions that can affect bullet trajectory and ballistic arc
