Anybody have experience with both of these Rangefinders? I notice both can be had for approx. $500. I am looking for a rangefinder with good glass that will be excellent for both bow hunting and rifle hunting in steep terrain. Has anybody had to utilize Leica Customer Service lately? Wondering if they would service a rangefinder if a guy ever had issues. I know Vortex's VIP program is a good one.

I hear warranty with vortex is great. I have never owned one though.
My personal experience with Leica was hell. I had a faulty diopter on their binoculars. I ordered them new. It took an act of Congress to get it taken care of. After about 2 months of going back and forth with them on phone, I finally just returned them for a refund.
I have a sig kilo 2000 rangefinder and love it. Sig just recently went to a no fault warranty like vortex.

We have loved the Leica for years! Fast, feels great in your hand, excellent glass. However it does not do angle comp when scanning. Also the Angle comp yardage reading takes a second or two to pop up after the line of sight.

The Vortex Razor HD 4000 is our new favorite. Its got fast angle compensated scanning that includes front or rear priority modes. Priority mode can be really nice when you're wanting to range something behind some rocks, or in front of trees or tall grass. Not to mention the insane amount of range it has. The glass is great too. It does feel bulky in your hand compared to other rangefinders, but at $499 its a great deal. And we keep them in stock for super fast shipping.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast, I will have to check out the sig kilo 2000 and look more closely at the Vortex Razor 4000 as well.

Rob, is the priority mode pretty fast and easy to use? For bow hunting situations? I am intrigued by a rangefinder with features like that but want it to be simple and intuitive. Im sure they've got it figured out so average Joe can use it in the field. Good info Thanks.

Yes, the priority mode is very quick, and its easy to use. Push the menu button to cycle through the modes. Might take a tiny bit of practice, but no digging through menus to find it. they did a really good job on this one.

Cool, the fact that vortex covers their rangefinders under warranty is a huge plus as well. I'm not far from SS Archery HQ, I will have to stop by and check out the Razor once business returns to normal. I hope it performs well when ranging smaller targets as well, I have had issues with other Vortex Rangefinders getting a read on small targets at a distance (400+ yards).

Did they solve the issue in 3500.com?

This does not apply to electro optics. They offer a strict 5 year warranty on their rangefinders.

The Razor 4000 is the best I’ve used. I also loved the 2800.com but the folding eye cup bothers me.

I would steer clear from anything Sig based off my personal experiences. They don’t range worth a damn in the desert. My Nikon Black 4K still runs circles around any model of the Sig I’ve tried (exclude the 2400abs).

Another option would be to buy a bino-rangefinder combo. Now that I have a Lecia combo there is no way I would go back to having to lug around and go back and forth between both! I love my Leica combo!
