So I finally found a day to continue load development for my 7mag along with my father in laws T-3 7 mag. All testing has been done at 300 yds of a bench using sand bags. This was the ladder I ran several months ago. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404711794.816938.jpg
Since time is limited for loading and shooting I skipped the refined ladder from 71.5-72.3. I loaded 5 rounds at 71.5-71.7-72.0. CCI mag primers , H1000, and at clip length . These are the results. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404712556.802352.jpg71.5
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404712598.457170.jpg 71.7 and I added a few clicks to my scope to shoot above the L. I believe the one round that went to the left was a combination of me and a gust of wind. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404714162.577896.jpg This was 72.0.

In the attempt to keep my barrel at a reasonable operating temp I was switching to my FIL's gun every 2-3 shots. I shot a ladder with his using H1000 and the 168's. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404716048.033249.jpg
I think I will explore the 70.0-70.5 range with some 5 shot groups the next time we get some range time. This should keep the recoil a little more to his liking and he will never shoot past 4-500 yds. I also shot a ladder out of his rifle using H4350 and 120 barnes tts's. I seeted these the same as the 168 bergers and will explore that down the road if necessary. This will be his PA whitetail load. If I can get 1" groups at 100 yds with these without changing my die I will be thrilled.

Nice. I just got a T3 lite 7mm. Will have the scope today or tomorrow and go break in the barrel. I have about 4 different bullets from 150-168gr to try and dial in what it likes to shoot.

Mine or my father in laws never liked any factory ammo too well. They both like the 168 classic hunters, H1000, and loaded to fit in the clip. We did adjust the triggers down to 3 lbs and trim the little pressure points out of the stock. I since put mine in a B&C stock without bedding it. If I could do it again I would put a brake on it before any load development. I still may, I just hate the idea of redoing the load. I shot all the above shots on Saturday without any shoulder issues. I did however get a little goose egg between my eye brows from the scope . I was trying to maintain the lightest possible hold on the rifle to get the best results. It doesn't bother me. It would just make it a little easier.

Nice shooting. Had the same load shoot well in my 7mm as well.

Sportsmanswearhouse has a T3 in 7rem mag with a fluted barrel weighing in at 5.3 lbs for $600.00. I really have been pondering on getting it and putting it in a B&C stock and making it a light weight mtn rifle… Have any of u guys messed around with the fluted barrel T3s?

Might check those numbers again. Last I checked at the Sportsmans here they were $749 and a nominal 5.8 lbs. But yeah, I've been around one. Just like a regular T3, but a few ounces lighter and $80 more. The B&C stock would likely add back most of the weight that the fluting removed, for whatever that's worth.

Yk
