Just curious why broadheads are sold in 3s?

Why not 6 with 5 sharp 1 practice head?
Am I not supposed to carry a full quiver(5) of the same things?

Just gearing up for the season giving mechanicals a shot for the first time. So far love the flight. Good luck to everyone!

They used to be sold in 6 packs. Then as they became more expensive companies started to reduce the number of heads included to keep price point the same.

I remember even the Hoyt broadheads years ago ago reduced to 4-5 heads when everyone else was still selling 6 packs. Then the mechanical wave seemed to really bring the 3 packs.

Probably easier to get a consumer to buy 3 to try than to be purchasing 6 too.

Sevr sells singles only. I’ve gotten NAP Spitfire Maxx’s in 4-packs. My quiver holds 7 arrows. Many trad quivers are 3-arrow.

The price point answer makes sense.

Thanks for the response guys. I figured it was something along those lines.
Reminded me of father of bride when Steve Martin freaks out "some big shot over..." Lol

My guess: Money! Most quivers hold 4-6 arrows. Manufacturers know hunters like a full quiver, thus they will buy two packs.

Wasp used to sell a 6 pack and now they come 3 to a pack. A better question is why do you get 10 hotdog buns in a pack but only 8 hotdogs in a pack?

Cause you shop at the wrong place I reckon. Around here it's 8 and 8.

What kind of uncivilized place you live??

California?

Its actually 10 hotdogs and 8 buns.

movie bulletproof monk says - So, I figured it out. Why hot dogs come in packages of ten and hot dog buns come in packages of eight. See, the thing is, life doesn't always work out according to plan. So be happy with what you've got, because you can always get a hot dog.

Google says - When hot dog buns were introduced, hot dogs were sold in varying quantities at the butcher shop. ... Sandwich rolls, or hot dog buns, most often come eight to the pack because the buns are baked in clusters of four in pans designed to hold eight rolls

I digress. Who knows why 3 to a pack. Most likely to meet a price point where they figured out how much money they can extract without people balking. Also 3 broadheads, tightspot 5 or 7 quiver. If you run a 7 you need to buy 9 if you run a 5 you need 6. Makes sense to sell you more then you need. I need more coffee.
