I was looking at broadheads at a local shop the other day and the owner said he had been shooting Ramcats for the past few years with great results. I haven't heard much about them. Anyone here have good or bad to say about them in terms of flight/penetration? A quick google search had some positive feedback but I didn't find much info. I ended up buying a 3-pack of 100 grain one-inch diameters to test.

great broadheads...switched to them this past deer season. they fly great as well other fixed blade as long as your bow is tuned right. I bareshaft tune my bows and most fixed blades shoot well out of them. the ramcats are sharp and leave a nice hole for a fixed blade head!!

I personally do not shoot ramcats but thru our shop i have never heard a bad thing about them

I looked into them, have heard the blades are easier to bend than a lot of other fixed head designs, but they fly really well. This is second hand info, so YMMV.

I have a pack to try out, a shop owner recommended them to me. He said the blades to bend easier than others but are devastating on animals and fly really well. He showed me one he shot through a deer this year and it was bent up pretty good.

I have no first hand experience but I have a few buddies who have been using them for the past few seasons and they said they fly really well but aren't as durable as Slick Tricks.

I think there are more durable 1" cut Broadhead's that fly just as well (Wac'ems come to mind)
If you are shooting Ramcats, why not shoot the hybrids? 1 3/8 or 1 1/2 cutting diameter- flies like a field point.

I don't really want blades that long. The bigger the blade the more chance they will fly differently and I will get less penetration in my mind. This is a consideration for me at 65 pounds and shooting 50-60 yards at elk.

I get those concerns, but that's actually what put Ramcat on the map. They solved a problem. A large diameter non mechanical broadhead (blades are deployed in flight) that flies like a field point and penetrates exceptionally well. That's what those heads are known for. I'm not sure what problem the new heads solve. We already have small fixed heads with incredible arrow flight. That being said, I'm sure they will work fine. But if you can get those characteristics you are talking about, and cause a larger wound channel, that's a win. The down side, pain in the arse to practice with, and blade damage. Since they are field point accurate for most, you can practice with field points once you've established that they shoot the same, and a couple packs of replacement blades solves the durability issue. Something to consider. Good luck!

That is exactly my plan, and if the bigger blades do fly the same I might shoot those. I guess that is why I am getting the to experiment with now, better earlier than later!
