Ram headlight replacement recommendations

Let us know how you like them. I replaced my 18 2500 with some of the entry level Alpha Rex and absolutely hate them.
What's bad about them? I've been looking for awhile. Have not decided yet on brand. Mine's a 18 with yellow halogen factory headlights. they suck, you can't see 50 ft at night. My friend has a 18 Laramie with the factory LEDs, huge difference.

Yea I have the same year with same headlights. My lows were unusable, would run brights 24/7 and never got flashed because they were so dim.

The Alpha Rex lows aren’t much better than the ones I replaced, that’s the main problem. Highs are bright so that’s not an issue.

Other complaints are they are a huge pain to adjust, you need to get to the back of the housing. There is not enough clearance to go through fender so have to take entire assembly back out.

Claimed plug and play unless you want the “optional” running lights (which I didn’t). Turns out, they aren’t optional and your truck will constantly throw a code and indicators won’t work so you need to wire that in.

Thanks, appreciate the info. I'll be going a different direction for sure. I really want a plug and play, that is for sure and certain. Don't want to be throwing codes and messing with the factory electric. My Jk had aftermarket bulbs and threw codes all the time. I believe it was the cooling fans that the system could not tolerate.

I put alpha Rex in my 3rd gen and they were horrible as well. Needed to run a canbus box since dodge never put fuse boxes in those trucks. Needless to say I went back to oem housings and upgraded halogen bulbs.

There is a lighting engineer on Tacomaworld that always answers my lighting questions on vehicles and saves me time, energy, and money on headlights when I needed to replace one or thought about upgrading.
Upgraded/European halogens are amazing!

Interesting about the codes. These lights I ordered also have an optional running light which I wasn't planning to use at all. They have a wire with a fuse tap though so you just plug it into the fuse box so I guess if I get a code I'll plug it in. I don't mind running lights on the road but I drive a lot off road and don't like the truck lit up all the time.
