Anybody have suggestions for good, breathable rain gear in a bib?

I always have trouble with a big gap on my lower back when I'm wearing a coat/pants setup, so I usually wear bibs when I can. However, most of the rain gear I've seen is offered only in pants.

Any ideas?

Look at Cabelas or Bass Pro their Guidewear series. I have bibs in Forest green and wear them a lot for hunting. I agree with you, it's nice to have the extra coverage to keep wind, rain and snow out.

Might also check non-hunting brands like OR, MH, Marmot and Arc'Teryx. A lot of mountain and ski companies have high-back, kidney height pants for that very reason.

I have a pair of cabelas mt050 pro bibs that I like for dayhunts when I know its gonna pour all day. For multiday backpack trips I have some OR mentor pants with suspenders. Much lighter than the mt050 but also louder.

I used to run with the Sitka waterfowl stuff, I can't remember the line. It kept the water out, but a bit too warm for me, and not the quietest thing in the world when dry. It was great for sitting in the wet though. I still have bot the jacket and bibs, but I think I will sell them soon.
