Who enters raffles for governor, commissioner, supertags, etc.? Is it worth spending a few hundred bucks on these each year? What about raffles from clubs and groups like RMEF, NSF, NRA, etc? What’s the best bang for the buck?

Love to hear some success stories if any.

I won an elk hunt a number of years back from RMEF. First I won the rifle auction at my local banquet, which in turn got me entered into the national drawing, which I was drawn.

Aside from that, haven’t had my stars align again. I still do raffle entries (have a few chances at 2 different WY commissioner tags). I take my chances, knowing the raffle tags are generating money for good causes

I have yet to win anything at dinner raffles but I keep attending. RMEF and Whitetails Unlimited are the two I have attended the most. I figure it's a fun night out and helps good causes. Worth it to me.

There is no “ bang for your buck”. It doesn’t happen. Best to get those notions away from your decision making process. raffles with the best odds (1 in 200 -400 ) are tickets that generally cost 100-200 dollars. The cheaper raffles ..5 to 25 will most likely have odds more like 1 in 2000 to 4000 plus ....

I decide to put in for supertags, a couple commissioners tags, and the arizona super raffle. Long odds but why not.

I already drew a great elk tag in Wyoming this year. Figured I’d better see if the lucky streak is still rolling. I didn’t draw New Mexico though.

IMO, you cannot go into these raffles thinking you are going to win anything. You will be a very unhappy and disgruntled participant...you need to go into it knowing you are making a donation to a good cause. It is nice to have that slim hope!

Get in the raffles! Money goes straight to protecting wildlife for the majority of them. Plus you never know...you might actually draw!
