RAD broadheads

Has anybody had any experience shooting these? I have spoken with Bryan Fry quite a bit and he seems like a stand up guy. The broadheads seem well built and they are built in smaller quantities, which usually leads me to believe the quality is on the higher end of the spectrum. I have seen very minimal feedback on these, as they haven't received a bunch of spotlight on the market yet. Has anybody tested them out? To me, they look like an overbuilt slick trick. Their titanium series BH's look pretty nice, and I have been interested in the Titanium signatures, the Rival, and the Ti-Con's which are almost a blend of the 2. I currently am shooting slick trick vipers, and love the sharpness, and COC performance, but am looking for something a little more durable and less prone to deflection/damage on bone contact.

I shoot the triple secs and have tried the del mastro(?) All of them fly extremely well and IMO blow slick tricks out of the water. If you've talked to Bryan you have already figured out that if it's not perfect he wont package it. He is very maticulous. His broad heads are top notch! Btw I have no affiliation with RAD what so ever just a very satisfied customer! Hope this helps!

I got a very comfortable feeling talking with Bryan, he really stands behind his product, and the information he is willing to openly share about his product made me look further into making it my BH choice this year. Did you shoot the LPV or HPV Del Mastro's? To me they look like a slick trick with stronger ferule design, and stronger materials. I am up in the air between the Van Dyke 100, Rival 100 LPV, and the Ti-Con 100. He said the Van Dyke is the most quiet and leaves an amazing blood trail, the Rival is a similar design with vented blades and great penetration, and the Ti-Con is a performance that falls in between. The Ti-Con has me really interested just because of the long tapered design. Titanium will probably take precedent in my final decision, but its REALLY tough with there being other options like Iron Will. My only concern with those is the noise complaint. And my arrow is tuned with Viper Trick 100's which I assume would rollover well to one of these RAD's

Shot the LPS on the Van Dykes (sorry I looked at the package again)and Triple sec. I like the added durability the solid blade gives.

Appreciate the feedback, Im still stuck on going all in with the IW's, or giving these a shot. If I shoot the IW's I will be slinging $60 arrows, which in all reality might help me make those shots even tighter cause if I lose one, or don't hit where I intend, ill throw a tantrum

Haha! I have a hard enough time shooting $35!! A $60 arrow would never leave my quiver!! Would like to hear your final decision and what factors led you to it.

Awesome, first person to have that much thorough feedback on these. The Ti-Con is supposedly what the owner shoots, and loves. It has a really unique design to open up and drive through the target. Thats the one I have been interested in the most. Did you get pretty good blood trails? Quick expiration?

I saw the deer drop he only 50 to 70 yards. The elk went a little father, the blood trail was good. I never took a picture of the blood trail. The BH held up great and the blades where still sharp

I shoot the rival and vandyke models,,, imo the best fixed broadhead Ive shot! ss and thick suuuuuuuper sharp blades. I have killed several animals with them. I shot a 200# hog on a frontal shot at 16 yards with 455 grain arrow, went through the whole length of the pig and exited out the rear ham pass-thru. pig didnt go far.

Really appreciate the feedback! I spoke with Jason Phelps a bit more today and he really pushed me to try the rival, so I ordered 2 3 packs. I will be putting them through the ringer this year. Got quite a few tags to fill (elk, deer, bear, cougar), hoping to use them on at least 3/4 of those hunts. I keep hearing really good feedback on their performance.

@Evergreen, ultimately I just can't justify slinging $60 arrows. Its like trying to justify a Ferrari as a daily driver, when you can buy a Toyota that is tough and reliable. The dialogue I shared with the owner Bryan, is ultimately what finalized my decision. He truly stands behind his product, and Jason assured that. These seem to be a much stronger, and beefed up version of the slick trick, which is what I have shot for years. I am excited to put some miles on these, and hopefully report back on them to help others know how well these do.
