quietest 22LR

Screw on cans will come close, but the absolute quietest is integral.

I doubt there is enough meaningful information out there, but I would also guess an integral CZ barrel would have better accuracy/precision than any screw on setup. The barrel length can also be a lot more attractive with going integral.

If I were to buy another I would get a TBAC or Switchback.

I just got my griffin armament Optimus micro out of jail. Great multi caliber .22 can, I run it on a 22 pistol and two 22 rifles. The bolt rifle is quieter but neither is particularly quite without the subsonic ammo. I have a little savage rascal that I threaded the barrel on and use for backpacking/camping. Nice and small even with the suppressor in there but threading was a chore, luckily my uncles an old machinist and has a lathe still so he took care of it for me. Added bonus for me was I can run this can on my 5.56/.223 rifles

Another vote for the 16.5” T1X with a Dead Air mask. The “quiet” CCis at 710fps are astonishingly quiet. The other sub rounds I’ve shot are also very quiet, to the point I can get multiple shots on squirrels without them completely blowing out. Try multiple brands to see which one your gun likes best. My tikka shoots the Norma Tac-22 Subs the best.

Maverick makes a good point. Don’t expect total silence out of any combination.

My quietest is a 16” barrel bolt gun. It sounds quieter than the Arrow brand staple gun I hang targets with.

I use lots of CCI Standard Velocity. It stays subsonic through my 16” bolt gun, is boringly accurate, and cycles my 22lr SBR AR15.

I own quite a few nice 22 rifles. I have two 22 cans in jail (AB and a silencerco warlock) and have in my possession a rugged occulus (went with it over a deadair due to availability when i bought).

1. Christensen arms ranger
2. Bergera carbon
3. Tikka
4. Tacsol oweehyee
5. Couple of 10/22s takedowns
6. Ruger American
7. Savage mk2

I hate to say it, but the best shooter in this group is the Bergara. The savage will give it a run for its money though.

I love this oweehyee because it’s a bolt 10/22. But the gun I carry the most is that ranger. It takes the 10/22 mags and shoots absolutely amazing as well.

I am setting the oweehyee up with a leupold 2-7 this week at some point when it warms up. Might change what I think.

I can shoot all my 22s with a can. They are absolutely a blast to shoot and I use subsonic or quiets.

If you’d like I can shoot you a video shooting my mk4 22/45 with quiets. I was trying to hit a Lilly pad at 125yds. It’s a good video for sound comparison.
