We @Davis Tent , are about to come out with a 12x12 Go Tent. Setting up the first version tomorrow for pics. Let me know if you have any questions
It's easy to set up i just lay it out guess on a couple stakes to start once the center pole is up i tighten and adjust not much harder at all. I have the 16ft elk mountian and a smaller White duckWhat size is your Elk Mountain? How many people with a stove will it fit? How hard is it to setup without the floor in it? Sorry for all the questions, this tent picking thing is killing me.
Thanks for the help and information, I had it narrowed down to pretty much Elk Mountain, Stout or a Reliable Teton 12x12x4. The floor doesn’t remove out of the White Duck. It's easy to set up i just lay it out guess on a couple stakes to start once the center pole is up i tighten and adjust not much harder at all. I have had my family of 5 in it for a week in November it was tight but we managed. This October we had 3 guys in it for most of October with a stove and it we had plenty of room this was a truck camp so we had extra stuff and comfortable cots to sleep on
Sounds like it might be a good size for me. When will you be selling? Will there be wall height options? ThanksWe @Davis Tent , are about to come out with a 12x12 Go Tent. Setting up the first version tomorrow for pics. Let me know if you have any questions
Yeah thats why i bought a elk mountian tent wanted one with a removable floor for packing the nice thing about the bell tent for packing is it easier to cut a single center pole and one smaller one for the entry way Then you don't have to find a bunch of good poles to cut to set up your tentThanks for the help and information, I had it narrowed down to pretty much Elk Mountain, Stout or a Reliable Teton 12x12x4. I hadn’t thought about just cutting a center/door pole once out in the field for it. I’m leaning more towards the Elk Mountain tent.Yeah thats why i bought a elk mountian tent wanted one with a removable floor for packing the nice thing about the bell tent for packing is it easier to cut a single center pole and one smaller one for the entry way Then you don't have to find a bunch of good poles to cut to set up your tent
Huge davis tent fan but wondering why you guys don’t offer a range tent 12x12 version with stove jack like Montana canvas does? Lots of guys want a single pole fast setup. Love my 14x16 but need something fast up and down and stove compatible for two cots.We @Davis Tent , are about to come out with a 12x12 Go Tent. Setting up the first version tomorrow for pics. Awesome than I will save my money for Davis! This is also in the works. It is being sewn today. It will also come with a stove jack.
Our material comes in 5' widths, so cutting half a cloth makes sense from a manufacturing purpose. If you're taking requests I feel like a 13x13 might be the magic size for going small but still able to handle 3 cots. Maybe I'm wrong and the 12x12 will work.
What would the cost/weight be for a 13x13? ThanksOur material comes in 5' widths, so cutting half a cloth makes sense from a manufacturing purpose.
No idea yet. We are still in the process of testing it and gathering information. Should know pricing probably mid JanuaryWhat would the cost/weight be for a 13x13? Thanks
Do you have the traditional pole system or the angle kit? I'm curious if there is a difference between the two in the wind.I have a Davis go tent it’s been on 3 hunts. You could make 3 work, it would be tight and with a stove. Sorry probably not much help as I have no photos.
2 cots and the stove with gear in the middle would work just fine. I’m having a hard time imagining 3 cots, the stove with gear.
How does it hold up in the wind? Wondering how bad the canvas whips in the wind.I’m a big fan of the Teton by Reliable tent. They are made in Billings MT. I have extensive use on the 10x10 which is perfect for 2 guys and a stove. Would recommend the 12x12 if your gonna have 3 guys
Solo set up takes me about 10min.
I’ve been in high wind in this tent and a traditional 12x14 wall tent. I think the Teton does better. Sure it flaps in the wind a bit, but it has much less vertical material to catch the wind compared to a standard style wall tent. It also has a ton of stake out/down locations which helps. Biggest thing to figure out is a method of guying out your stove pipe in high wind. I usually rig something using some mechanics wire and p cord. How does it hold up in the wind?
