I was shooting my 22lr the other day with my 8 year old, as we were moving back in distance I was trying to figure out the best zero range and if there is any type of quick drop system? I tried setting up some different zeros in the shooter app, but I didn’t see anything that was super apparent. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! IMG_4236.jpeg

.22 LR trajectories aren't really flat enough to use Quick Drop in the way most of us do.

If you tinker with zero ranges on this you should be able to make something work across a limited range.

I think it really depends on what ranges you are talking about. We shoot PRS-style .22 matches with targets between 25 and 400 yards. Pretty much everyone zeros at 50 yards for this, and it takes a LOT of elevation to get to 350-400, it's like shooting a .308 at 1000 yards. Are you talking about walking the distance back to 75 or 100 yards, or are you talking about the rimfire version of ELR? And, are you using a mil scope, or MOA?

With a 50 yard zero a lot of .22 ammo will use 2 mils of travel at 100. Below is +/- my guns well-verified dope at about 1500'DA, this should have you within a tenth or so at any range to 100. This is SK match, but it applies to sk+, midas, etc, it's all the same dope.

20yds -.2mil
30 -.2mil
40 -.2mil
50 0mil
60=+.3mils=.3
70=+.3mils=.6
80=+.3mils=.9
90=+.5mils=1.4
100=+.5mil-1.9

I am using a 3-9 swfa in mills. I wanted to get my boys started on mill’s because a very smart man once told me “Jesus loves tens!”

At this point I am not very interested in longer range with the 22, 100 - 200 yards would be great for the kids.

A 40 yard zero with 22LR is the functional equivalent of a 100 yard zero with centerfires. Unfortunately there is no quick drop with 22LR.
