Question for Rokslide members

It's one of my favorite shelters of all time! I've done several things to lighten it up, but nothing beats the Soulo when you're above treeline.
looking forward to reading your oppinion of the hilleberg soulo. i have one and really like it.

You can drop the weight of the Soulo down by several ounces (over a pound), so keep that in mind.

The Soulo handles wind and snow load better than the Akto and is free standing too.

I'm still a big fan of the Akto, but after using both for a few years I would get the Soulo for sure.

i agree with you aron on the snow and wind loadings that the soulo can handle. spent a night that can only be described as frightening on the tops in new zealand chasing tahr. i was inside on my back with arms and legs everywhere holding the poles thinking i was going to get blown off the mountain. absolutely no damage. great little bombproof shelter. floorless tarps have their place but for above tree line in new zealand you want a bombproof tent.

so what are the weight savings?
