I'm still on the fence about getting one of these packs. I'm pretty sure the GIF will win and I'll be using one next year
How are you guys securing your rifles to these packs? Doesn't seem like either of these bags are set up for this with side pockets for the butt of the rifle stock. I've had good luck with the system's the Barney's bag and also the Kuiu ICON employ for this strategy. I do have the Kifaru gunbearer and I couldn't get used to the barrel under my arm. I would rather just have my rifle attached to the bag, with the weight transfered to my belt.
For those in my shoes, what systems have you come up with?
The Stone Glacier gun bearer system looks interesting, but not sure if compatable with the Kifaru bags and I also don't like the quick release function. If my rifle is not in my hand, I want it anchored with complete security.
Also, what about your spotters? I like to keep my spotter (65mm Swaro HD) in an external pocket so I don't have to dig into my main bag. I think the DT1 has a pocket for this. With the tripod, I usually strap on the outside.
Thanks for the input
