Question about tripod head

Pick a fluid ball head of medium to heavy duty. Rrs makes a nice one, sirui, 2 vets, etc.. anything used by prs guys will be good. try using the search function with entire threads about tripods and tripod heads

Make your own table to shoot off, and your favorite bag. Use a piece of poly marine stuff, a 3/4 insert you press into it with a hot soldering gun or hot poker, and you're set for binos or shooting.

This is a super stable and versatile setup but ends up being large and heavy to pack around.

We carry a couple different tac tables and should have the SRS one back in stock shortly.

RRS Anvil 30 is the best all around head out there in my opinion.

Ball heads, inverted ball heads, fluid heads, tac table and bag combo, and leveling bases all have their pros and cons. Anvil 30 or a good leveling base are my preference for shooting off of but leave a lot to be desired for glassing.

I use a Feisol CB-50D Ball Head and it's pretty good. A lot of instability can come from the tripod itself as well, so it's worth considering the entire system and what you're willing to pay for and carry.

My table is 6x6, fits in the top part of my pack ready to be pulled quickly and screwed on. Now granted, I'm not walking miles upon miles the way some hunt. I also don't have to be set up at a moments notice.

Makes sense. At the end of the day run what works for you!
