Question about Credo HX

I like it. For shooting at dots (load dev, zeroing) its fantastic, and in my opinion slightly easier to center on the target spot. For stuff like shooting at plates, animals, etc - i don't think a crosshair (duplex, milquad, etc) is at all a hindrance.
As an example, the SWFA 3-9 has a fairly thick crosshair compared to the SWFA 10x and Trij 2.5-10, and I dont find it to be an issue at all.

As an aside, and not something you asked about, I'm moving towards all FFP. I do like the Credo HX, and it was my first dialing scope about 1.5 years ago, but I've found that a good FFP reticle does away with the annoyance of trying to use SFP sub tensions at lower mag ranges...I really like shooting at 6x-10x for the 100-400 yard shooting I mostly do.

I have both, on rifles I don’t use much anymore since moving to FFP, but that said, I’d challenge anyone to get behind either in a field situation and find one meaningfully noticeable difference.

@Sponge experience mirrors my own. The Credo HX is a great scope. And if all I ever did was shoot white tails from a stand then I'd be set. But knowing what I know now about a mil ffp system, I would have bought something else. Notice that for long range work, people often make the switch from moa to mils, but it hardly ever goes in the other direction.

Totally. My plan is 100 and in as it is a rimfire. I do use FFP on my 6CM.

I wondered about the crosshairs before I bought my scope, because like you I saw what others have said. I have poor vision but where glasses and I can see the cross hairs/dot perfectly fine.

Finding a scope with durability, clarity, lightweight, and a good reticle is hard to find. Choosing a scope is a lot of trade offs. I've settled on the 2.5-15x42 and am pretty happy with it. I think it is a good balance of everything I find important in a scope. I can see just fine to a thousand, for me there is no need to go bigger and heavier.

Yes, but my eyes are pretty good and I set the diopter correctly.

@Rdpe21 eye box starts getting narrower noticeably at 10x if you're positioned at the extreme ends, it's a gradient from 10x to 15x with it being sorta tight at 15x. The number spacing on the power ring tells the story pretty well.

I agree always tradeoffs, and I too like the all-aroundness of this scope. Nothing matters more than reliability and repeatability and the Trijicon Credo's seem to have that. I've only ever had two scopes take a fall, one survived it the other didn't (neither Trijicons and admittedly their price points were much higher than Trijicon and the other much lower) but moral of the story I'm landing on Trijicon for the R&R.

At 2.5X I'd feel comfortable hunting close up, and at the 15X you can have a lot of fun plinking

This is good to know. I imagine 95%, if not more of my use would be benchrest, but I like the SFP for the "just in case" I ever needed it for close range hunting. I'm very much a "what if" guy, so I like that this scope can do it all and be durable in that

I like a center dot vs crosshair. I like sfp and mills for hunting. My favorite scope is the vortex razor lht 3-15 x 42 and x 50 I have 3 and 2 have held zero and one has been back to vortex 2x for minor shift over the course of a week of hunting. Trijicon ten mile rides on that gun now for testing and it might stay there.
