Wondering if anyone uses the exodus with low poundage bows? I’ve always leaned toward cut on contact but like the design of these. Would be for elk and mule deer.

Setup is

Arc 34 at 29.5” draw and 60 pounds.

Arrow is 410 grains going around 274fps.

Probably overthinking it but have never really used a chisel tip.

Thanks.

You can sharpen the chisel tip of the ferrule easily too.

I do it on every head. Flat surface with sandpaper taped down, push and pull.

I think you’d be fine at that weight and speed. But you’re probably not going to want to take quartering to shots

Never knew you could sharpen it. Haven’t actually had one in my hand, just see people rave over them and started looking. I try to avoid a qt shot of at all possible.

Still debating between these and the Day Six or Iron Will.

I shoot them from my tradbow… 500gr arrows moving 175fps. You can make the chisel tips hair shaving sharp with a small stone. I haven’t had the chance to put one through a deer yet so take my opinion for what it’s worth.

I wouldn’t use this on an elk, but with the specs you’re listing I wouldn’t hesitate.

Thanks. Think I’ll grab a pack and try them on a diamond plate

I think the Exodus is about the best "cheaper " broadhead.

They shoot well, I have sharpened the tips, and the blades. They aren't what a few others are out of the box in my opinion, but clean up nice. They don't hold an edge like premium blades either, but are really good heads. The full blade isn't forgiving, the swept is.

I got a pass through on 2 elk this year with a very similar setup to yours with 2 inch beast mechanical broadheads. I'd say you'll be plenty fine with exodus as long as you're tuned

My dad used them last couple years with his 50 pound bow and has had all pass through on whitetail. I think you would have no problem with them.

Shari Fraker killed something like 30 bull elk with a round wheel compound bow and Thunderheads. And she was a petite lady. You'll be fine. Hit the lungs, cook some tenderloin.
