Q&A on NF NX6 scope reviews

The reticles are borderline unusable for many common applications. They’re only an ounce lighter than comparable NX8s and an inch longer.

They’re good. The only thing that I don’t care for, is that you can’t set the zero stop anywhere but at 0.

Their video shows you have one more setting below zero, but it was quite a bit below zero. Does your prototype not allow that?

I’ve been holding off buying a 2nd RS1.2 waiting to see what NF came up with. What’s the general consensus on the 3-18NX6 vs the RS1.2?

I like the NX6 offerings over the NX8 offerings for hunting.

NF makes the most durable scopes on the market, but they need better hunting reticles, which they can easily do.

Thinking I might have to pick up a 2-12x42 for my tikka in a 30-06. I’ve been wanting to replace the leupold I have on it. Kinda pricy, but hopefully worth the upgrade mainly for reliability. Takes too much effort to get a shot on an elk to be cheap on a scope

Yeah, though for that money at the moment you can get an S&B Polar with s similar reticle, similar reliability, and much better glass.

Nothing, just a lot of reticle bias.

If I could change anything on the SHV 4-14 I already have, it would be the reticle. The glass is kinda 'meh' but I can live with the glass. The reticle is what I would change. Not the zero stop, not the ~3x erector.

Frankly if every riflescope I owned was 4-12 or 3-12 or 4-16x or 3-15x or, heck, 5x-15x for most of them, I'd be fine with it. I like having at least >12x to get parallax adjustment.

RS1.2 is now $1400. But, still, I agree on pricing, at the moment Eurooptic has Polars for less than $1800.

I would be all over that polar if they had a reticle with wind holds.

You can get them to change the reticle, but it is not cheap. I think the cheap polars are all SFP, so less interesting to me. But a FFP Polar with the P4FL reticle would be sweet (and can be done).

Probably more effort/$$$ than it’s worth. FFP, mil, and wind holds are all on my must have list.

Effort is just sending it in, but reticle change is about $700 (I forget what exactly they quoted me about a year ago).

I have a couple of NXS 3.5-15's and love the eye relief. I have trouble with the NX8 eye relief so it will be interesting to see how easy the NX6 is to get on target.

Haven't had a chance to look thru one yet, but euro optic said Atacr glass. Hopeful it's true as i like the image better in the ATACR vs. Nx8

Thanks for the response. If the NX6 has ATACR glass I'm going to have to buy one and find something to put it on

Wow. That's 4x what Swarovski charged to swap their BR reticle into my dad's 4-16 a couple years ago
