I know it's probably been discussed in depth, but do you have any new insights on why the RS1.2 is tough, and the rest of their models are not?
I'll be interested to hear his thoughts but I was under the impression they didn't intentionally make the RS1.2 so durable, they kind of just lucked into it. Later on they seemed to not take the Rokslide testing seriously or care about it. I think it's just a broken clock being right sort of situation.

Well… that’s what they claim after the RS1.2 was released and became their best selling scope. Prior to that, the “story” was a bit different.

The RS1.2 is based on the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x FFP. That scope was specifically designed and tested to stay zeroed after drops.

So Trijicon paid for all of Maven's R&D?

I wouldn’t put it that way. Most scopes made are just modifications of the basic design of the base model that the actual manufacturer offers. There are not many totally ground up, uniquely designed scopes from Japan, Philippines, or China.

This is one of the reasons why I hesitate to give my money to Maven. I would rather reward companies who consistently produce solid drop proof scopes like trijicon and nightforce.

Especially being that two of those companies state publicly that scopes that hold zero through drops and rough use is very important; and one says that it is all hogwash and dumb.

How did it do on a tall target test? I just test a couple huskemaw's and the Maven RS.5 4-24x50.

If you mean the adjustment (tracking) check, it was not done. After the complete failure of the drop portion, spending more rounds on checking tracking wasn’t worth it. It seemed to adjust correctly when zeroing. But it is fragile.

Yes, tracking.
Got it, it's a pos...
Thanks
