Q&A for Minox ZP5 5-25x56mm THLR scope

In terms of the THLR reticle being optimised for hunting - we need to remember that it was also possibly designed for military use
...
if that was part of the design intent, then some of the reticle elements make more sense.
Like measuring human-shaped targets for range estimation...

It will be interesting to see how people think of it with more getting out there.

As for the reticle and PRS- I’ve shot a couple of matches with it, placed quite well, and it is as easy/useful to use as any .2 mil reticle. You dial the elevation and hold wind in PRS- not sure how the THLR is any hindrance for most shooters there.

The sport seems to be infested with Christmas tree worshippers.

There are some of those guys still but lots going away to straight vertical and horizontal 0.2 mil with as much clear as possible for spotting trace and impacts. I'd prefer one of these to the MR4 for sure but i chose the MR4 for my PRS rifle as it's closer to the other reticles I have and am familiar with.

I may not have been "in" before, but I'm out now.

Haha. They are the best $2,000 field scope on the market. I would proffer they are the best alpha scope on the market at any price. An absolute steal at $2,000.

I am not disagreeing at all. Like other times, I need this scope like another hole in my head. And beyond that being my norm, this scope would be way more scope than my hunting wants. But I got caught up in the THLR reticle, and your review, so it's been on my mind. So when I saw "on sale" - my lizard brain took over and I started thinking that I should get one. Now that it's closer to the $2k, rational thoughts* have returned.

*"rational thoughts" for me are relative.
