I’ve searched the forum and haven’t found anything of recent. I really like the specs of this action and am looking to pick one up. I’m concerned because I don’t read much about folks using them. I’m looking to pick up an action that will accept prefits but I’m only really seeing preferred offering this. Is this something I should be concerned about? Are they new enough that folks just haven’t offered them yet. I heard the mesa actions have some tolerance issues but appears they resolved that with the new line? What are everyone’s thoughts on these. I’d like an action without a pic rail. Would like to keep a long under 23 oz. Right now have a budget of around 1000. Any other suggestions or insights ?

What are your other preferred features for the action?
1 accepts prefits and will be around
2 lightish weight but not titanium
3 Remington 700 compatible
4 cost 1000ish or less
5 prefer less then 90* blot throw but don’t have a problem with all the 90s I currently have
6 I don’t love rails as these will be hunting rifles

Haha. Prolly asking a lot when you lay it out. But ultimately this is a hunting rifle and I don’t need br accuracy. I know tikka offers a ton for the money but I just much prefer the hinged floor plate of a 700. If someone would make a tikka mag that sat perfectly flush I think I’d be there even if it only held 2 in the mag.

Im waiting on a Skltn 6 creed right now. Im hoping its not too long until its done and ill be able to play around with it. My gunsmith has done a few builds with the Skltn and he likes them. I dont know that any of them have really been put through the wringer so far, but he was happy with his 7/6.5 prc personal build.

I’ve got 3 of the skltn actions and they are solid. We’ve measured at least 12 of them and headspace is repeatable so can be prefit. The 3 I personally own are fantastic and all are very good shooters. Definitely happy with the ones I own. The older summit line I was not impressed with.

Based on your list, the Kelbly Atlas Lite is there. Preferred Barrel has them listed on sale, but out of stock. I looked at buying one of the new 75 degree bolt.

That’s great to hear. I think the older versions weren’t great and people are hesitant or think they arnt repeatable, but from what readers new Allen’s are build with pretty tight tolerances.

Yes that atlas lite checks tge boxes as well. I also like Falknor but they are a bit more $$.
