Pulled the Trigger

Google a shop called "the antlered doe" she makes some amazing rings with antlers and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Working in a machine/fab shop id be wearing one of those rubber ones at work. De-gloving a finger sounds like a bloody terrible time.

I work with machinery and I fully intend to have a rubber one and maybe have the "real" ring on a necklace or similar.
Will be checking that out and yeah I should’ve specified that the one I want is just going to be for ceremony day and special occasions. I like my fingers enough to wear silicone at work 😂

20 years a machinist, 16 years married in May.

Frankly, I've worn my ring almost every day since. Removed perhaps only when filing a part on a lathe, maybe when welding or electrical work, or perhaps some gnarly mechanic tasks. Otherwise, I keep it on, and it's been fine. (I also wear a nice mechanical watch in the shop, and seldom remove that too, so perhaps I'm just conditioned to worm carefully. They do kind of serve as conscious reminders to work carefully...)

My ring is a simple Palladium band.

If I were going to make my own, I'd probably take the easy way, and just turn something from a 316ss hex-nut.

BTW - Congratulations. Weddings are silly, but marriage is awesome. Wishing you many years of happiness together.

Been with the same woman for the last 26 years, married for the last 21. The only advice I can give is, think very hard before making this commitment, and regardless of anything, if you already own anything, require a prenatal. Trust me, I have two adult kids and 26 years of my life invested in this. I’m sure you think, “Yeah, but that’s not me/us”, well there’s a very good chance that it is. Much better than the chance that it’s not, just sayin’. Trust me or not, I’ve been traveling down that road. Miracles do happen, but they happen far less often than they don’t.

They might want kids.

An antler for a wedding ring?
No woman I have ever met wants something like that for their wedding ring.

A woman's wedding ring needs to be something that has some bling to it. It also needs to be made from a metal that won't tarnish or rust- thus the reason why gold and platinum is so popular. I think the wedding rings with big stones are gaudy plus they get hung up on everything. If your wife is always having to take it off, guaranteed it will get lost.

Every woman I know would appreciate a delicate fine metal ring with princess cut diamonds- even if they are small. I get it, the message you are trying to send is "Hand crafted" but I think most would interpret it as you 'cheaped out' on an important piece.
My ring, not hers. Hers is bought and paid for.

Just buy a pack of silicone rings from Amazon. I told my wife not to buy me a nice ring but she did. I wore it in our wedding and maybe a few nice occasions after. Now it sits in a box and I just wear silicone ones.

Don’t buy the nice silicone ones for everyday use. I also told my wife not to get me one of those and she did. I had it for 6 weeks. Then lost it gutting an elk.
