Those of you that have them , how do you most often use them. I just ordered a pair of Kyptek Kratos pants off of camofire. Normally 189 and they were 69. They only had 2xl or small so I ordered the 2xl. I have dalibor pants already from kryptek and this past deer season I was a tad cold in them when not on the move. So what I had planned was to throw these in my pack along with my Krtos jacket and throw them on once I get where I'm going if needed. I was just going to leave them on the outside and take them off when I start moving again. Is this what you guys do or do you just leave them on all the time? If you do that , how do they hold up with wear and tear? Like I said I was a tad cool in NC so I deffinately need something if I go back home and hunt deer with my dad in PA.

I do have a pair, but have not used them a ton. They do have a place in my pack during my later season backpack hunts, but for still hunting or tree stand sits I think a dedicated pair of insulated pants or bibs is better/warmer option. I have worn mine under my hunting pants as an insulating layer all day when the temp requires, and they also make a good pant to lounge around camp in and let your base layers air out. I think your idea is good though, slip them on over your pants when you stop to glass to keep warm and remove once you start hiking again.

Cool. Sounds like I'm not to far off track. When I go to Pa to hunt with my dad I usually walk in in the morning before light and sit till around lunch time. That's when I usually get chilled or cool during that sit time. Then the second part of the day I slow move and set and move until the last hour , hour and a half till dark. Again when the temp drops and I get cool again. That extra layer may be nice. In NC we have pretty big temp swings in the mountains. This past season it was 19 when I got up and headed to my stand. That layer would have been nice when I got to where I was going. However the walk in wasn't bad with what I had because I was climbing a bunch to get there. Then by 11 it was up in the 50 which wasn't bad for what I had. It's just those few hours in between moving or the temp swings that it would be nice to have something extra. That's what I've been doing with my kratos jacket anyway. Only I've been throwing it under my softshell for protection.

I use mine when glassing, extra warmth when sleeping if needed and first thing in the morning or evening. They make it much easier to get out of the sleeping bag and get breakfast rolling in the cold.

I bought a pair last fall to use primarily for stand hunting in Massachusetts and Mississippi. I get hot quick walking in and cold even quicker once I stop. The Kratos pants worked great over mid-weight pants and a merino base layer. In humid and damp conditions I was comfortable into the mid 20s. They were quieter than I expected and did a nice job cutting the wind. Would probably be good into the teens if out of the wind in a dry climate.

I have Sitka pants and use them a lot more than I ever thought, they are way to easy to put on to ever sit around cold,I also wear them while riding the ATV.

I have to tenacious tape them periodically, the Sitka's are not very tough!

X3. Slipping those things on before getting out of the bag is the best. Never thought I would use them as much as I do but with how light they are they almost always make it in my pack.
