Nice setup. I think my next build will have a LPA fuzion TI action, those look pretty sweet.I’ve got a game hunter, LPA fuzion TI nitride, and 24” .264 proof sendero with piercision brake. With SOL bottom metal and empty mag it’s 6.1 lbs.
Bare rifle is barrel heavy for sure. With Swarovski x5 it balances well, still a touch heavy on the barrel side.View attachment 86717
My son had a rifle built with a Mcmillan edge fill game hunter and a proof sendero light barrel, Remington 700 action. Total weight of the rifle hunt ready with a Leopold vx6hd 6x18 and talley rings is 8 pounds 4 ounces. The rifle balances very well and shoots 215 bergers into tiny little groups.
i built the exact same rifle but with a Brux #3 contour barrel. He saved 10 ounces by going with the proof barrel.
One other small difference is he went with a Holland brake and I used a MBM. The MBM is noticeably more effective.
This rifle started life as a 6.5 CM with a LPA Razor TI, 21 1/4” Proof Sendero light, McMillan hunters edge, and a 4.5-14x40 1” leupold. Weight with scope was 6lbs 7 ounces. It served me really well last year in taking a Dall sheep in the Yukon at 490 yards and a Desert Sheep in Mexico at 290 yards. I just recently switched the stock to a Mesa Precison and the scope to a 4.5-14x40 30mm leupold. It now weighs 6lbs 9ish ounces all in. This rifle will consistently shoot less than half moa out through 900 yards. I’ve only shot it past 900 a couple of times but it has shot very well past 900 as well.
I love everything about this rifle. I did move away from the Hunter’s edge stock only because I could get a vertical grip at the same weight switching to the Mesa Precision stock. I just recently switched to RL26 with the 135’s I was shooting and added another 100fps and maintained accuracy. It went from 2860 to 2960 with a 135, that’s some pretty flat shooting in a 21” bbl.I have a Blue Printed Rem 700 in a MCM Hunters Edge with a Bartlein #3, 6.5 Creed @ "23, and Its a little heavier than I had expected due to the # 3 contour barrel, I was contemplating going with a Proof Light Sendero cut to around "20 - "21, you have the only rig I have ever seen with a Proof in a Hunters Edge stock. How do you like the barrel, weight / balance of the rifle? Much appreciated thanks
That right there is ...... Saaweet !!!A proof sendero lite will fit in a manners EH8+ which is pretty lite for a quality stock. My most recent build is a 6.5 PRC with LPA fuzion ti action, 20” proof sendero lite and manners EH8+. Bare rifle is 5lbs 10oz, I am topping it with a NF NXS 2.5-10 which should put it right about 7lbs even. Unfortunately I don’t even have it in my hands yet, should be shipping this week. Work was done by Lane Precision.
