Proof Prefits

Has anyone had good success with the prefits that come directly from proof? I’m looking at doing a 7PRC build on a lone peak Razor / 22’’ sendero proof. There are some incredible deals out there right now for their prefits. Does proof chamber them in house? I had a friend do a build on a long action last year (used a blank and another gunsmith chambered the prefit and sent it out, not a direct from proof prefit) and it was a dog. Doesn’t shoot well at all.

I have two Proof carbon sendero prefits (7RM & 300WM). Both shoot well and passed go/no go with recommended torque specs. I ordered directly through proof's mil discount program. Long wait, but I'm happy with their products.

Good to hear, I’m part of a similar discount program and the pricing is amazing right now. Makes the build significantly cheaper. Thanks for the reply.

These are pretty normal results with my proof prefit and three different kinds of factory ammo. Hand loading dorks and better shooters could do better.

I’d prefer a slimmer contour in their steel offerings, but I think the CF wrapped prefits are a no brainer if you’re wanting carbon.

If I can get anywhere near this kind of accuracy I’d be very satisfied!

Have a 22” 7mm-08 on a Tikka action. Headspaced fine and it shoots lights out with everything I’ve tried. Very happy with it.
