Has anyone used this tripod? Cameralandny has them on demo for $140. Max weight of 22lbs. I will be using for my binos and an old heavy 60mm spotter. I would probably upgrade the head to a manfrotto or vanguard at some point. Tried to talk my wife into going half on an outdoorsmens for her photography as well but she's not going for it😀 Thanks for any help.

I used the Promaster XC525C tripod with my razor 65mm spotter. It worked great for me with no problems. I bought it after watching this you tube video...

I still would like to upgrade to the Outdoorsman Micro pan head, but as far as the tripod itself, no plans to get rid of mine. I realize its not exactly the same one as you asking about, but figured id post what opinions I have regarding mine. the design is basically the same from what I can tell, the only difference is the C is for the carbon model.

so are you using the ball head that came with it then? I am eyeing the one on eBay. Cheap way to try it out. Baby blue isn't that bad of a color I guess😀

Yeah I bought it. It's gonna be better than what I already have for sure. Will post what I think about it once I get some time on it

Can you weigh it without the head if you have a scale? I think it is only like 4oz heavier than the carbon but wanted confirmation on actual weight...

I think you got a pretty good deal on that tripod at that price. If you were asking me about whether or not I used the stock ball head this year, the answer is yes I did. It was ok, but I really want the outdoorsman micro pan head.

Well I got it today. They were located only about 60mi from me so that worked out well. Coop the tripod is 2lbs 8oz w/out the head. The ball head is about 9.5oz. I think I should be able to strip it down more and knock off a couple ounces. Once I get a couple outings with it I will post up a review. Hopefully in the next couple weeks.

Seems fairly solid to me. I haven't used a really nice tripod before so take it with a grain of salt.
