My local camera shop has a couple of these and they strongly recommended this for backpack hunting. The specs look great for a sitting/kneeling height tripod. The specs for weight and working height are similar to the slik 624 pro cf. It's fairly inexpensive, well under 2lb, has all the features of the much heavier full size xc525 including built in monopod, and a big weight capacity of 11lb. It is alloy and not cf, so the weight is surprising. Looks like a very good choice but I can't find any reviews.

I've been using the Promaster 525 carbon fiber tripod for about the past 4-5 years. It has worked very well for me. No experience with the 522. I can't see how the 525 can be 'much heavier' since it only weighs about 2 lbs (3 lbs with the Promaster panhead).

You have the xc525c. The xc525 is alloy and well over 3lb, but quite a bit less expensive.

gotcha. I know budget is important, but take a good look at the carbon fiber 525 Promaster. If you prefer twist lock legs, I expect you would be happy with it
