Has anyone used this tripod? Not sure the pluses and minuses, or if the listed weight includes the head or not. But if it does, looks really tall and versatile with a fairly good weight, especially considering it's aluminum. Sounds too good to be true.

Thanks for the reply!

I wonder if this one is going to be tall enough....totally not sure. I am 6'3", and I'd like to be able to use it standing up. When I was a photographer, I always found using the center column degraded stability a great deal, so ideally, I'd like to get to as close to 61" as possible, without using the center column. The spotter I just got is angled, so that helps. But this is my first real spotter (the range cheapie I have does not count), so I am not sure what I need here.

Also looking at various other brands like benbo, Sirui, oben, and of course Manfrotto. I have a Manfrotto 055 in aluminum (used for previous photography work) but it's a massive tank. Want to keep the weight to a reasonable level, but my spotter is 82mm, so need good stability.

I bought the xc325 because it's light. I use use this tripod for long hikes. I am 5'9'' so it works for me standing up and using a straight spotter.
My son who is 6'1" uses it standing up for a short period. We use this tripod sitting mostly. It's pretty light so glassing when it's windy is a problem.

Gotcha, I'll check it out, I am trying to get a tripod under 3.4 lbs, so with head, should be just under 4 pounds. But under three pounds would be great, but it sounds like I might need something a little taller and a little stouter for my spotter. I emailed Promaster to get some additional info, but no response as of yet.
