Products to use during barrel break in?

As far as barrel break in goes, do whatever gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. I tend to just shoot them like I stole them and clean when accuracy drops and replace once speed has dropped below acceptable velocity. Here is a humorous video on barrel break in for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.

Big fan of Boretech brushes, jags, and cleaning rods. Don’t forget a quality bore guide like the Sinclair custom fit models. As far as solvents go KG products are the best I’ve used and my borescope confirmed.

I did a break in for the first time today. I shot once then cleaned, 5 times then shot 3 cleaned once a few times then took one shot to foul and a 3 shot group at 100. I did have a bunch of light primer strikes, I looked at the bolt assembly and there was pink grease coming out of it it was 12 degrees here and the grease seemed gummed up. I pulled apart when I got home and there was quite a bit of grease inside I cleaned it out hope that takes care of it. Shot great but was bummed about the light strikes but better to find it now than on a hunt if it was the grease because of the cold. Everytime I slowly pulled trigger it wouldn’t go when I yanked it fired. It was warm to the touch when I did the last 3 shot group and I was able to slowly pull and execute good shots, which makes me think it was the grease. Who knows we’ll see what happens next time

I clean it really well if NIB.
Thereafter, I clean the barrel if accuracy deteriorates or the barrel somehow got really dirty.

I shoot two and clean for first 15 or so. patches then nylon brush then another patch or two. use any solvent. then clean after every 5 to 10 rounds real good. seems to work well.

To break in or not isn’t the reason for this thread.....it can’t hurt the barrel so why not do it.
I figure shoot two or three then clean for the first 20 or so or till it cleans easy. What I want to know is what guys are using to clean between shots?
I have a good one piece rod and a bore guide. I figure use a brass jag and patches, I’m not planning on using a brush. What cleaner do you guys like?
Butches? Boretech? Good ol Hoppe’s #9?
Let me know!
Why not a brush? There's no way a brush can do damage compared to a bullet going down the barrel.

I use bullets to break my barrels in. I’ve been following this method for 20+ barrels. I clean if accuracy drops (pretty rare and many rounds). I also clean to verify if the barrel is shot out (sometimes). Barrels wear out. I replace them like tires on a truck. Except barrels are usually cheaper.
