Hello, i am new to reloading but was curious what people prefered to use as far as Standard primer vs. magnum primer for loads in 6.5prc. Will be using H1000 powder and loading 127 gr. lrx, 140gr and 156 gr bergers. Any advantages of one over the other. Thanks

Guys are using both large and magnum rifle primers. I am only used large and have good groups. I'm sure the magnums work good as well. Just remember if you have a good load with large rifle primers its always best to back off powder when switching primers.

I have seen a few polls and it seems most guys are using standard large primers. I tried both and it seemed like the magnums had higher ES and lower accuracy than standard large rifle (CCI BR2)

Which ever you can find, being trying to snag some large rifle primers for a while, saw some large rifle magnum primers in stock (5000 pack) online yesterday and debated whether I should get them instead of large rifle primers.
I figured well, I'm not having much luck finding primers, maybe I should just try the magnums but then they were sold out. Next time I will just buy whichever comes in stock.

I would use say 210’s or 215’s I use the 210’s in my 6.5-284 Norman not much of a difference, I push the Berger 156’s with a 24’ barrel at 2930fps with 55.4gr of h-1000....

I used larger Rifle primer , if you bullets 140 or less H1000 is goo , 156 gr , you need N565 my friend. N565 is for heavy bullet.

If you have N565, that 156 Berger can shoot at 3030 for sure with AdG brass, I have H1000 , but I don’t use it for either 6.5 PRC or 300 WM, because I don’t have the velocity I wanted.
