I may have a job opportunity coming my way in Price, Utah. I used to live in Grand Junction, Colorado, and have driven through Price a few times but haven't spent any time there. Have any of you spent much time in that area, whether living there or hunting, fishing, or other outdoor stuff? I read a lot about hunting in places like Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, but don't seem to see much about Utah.

I call Price the "Crotch" of Utah. Not quite the armpit ( I save that designation for the Vernal/Roosevelt area)but not much better either.

While I, myself would never move to Price it is pretty dang close to some of the best hunting and fishing around and is centrally located in the state. The areas I hunt are actually closer to Price than they are to my home. If you just close your eyes as soon as you get to the bottom of the canyon and do not reopen them until you're back on the mountain you will never have a problem.

I know this sounds overly harsh but it's true. That town (and many, many others) in Utah is a junk pile...:ROFLMAO:

Its definitely not the prettiest place in utah, but amazing hunting and fishing. Their gun club is 2nd to none, you can shoot out to a mile if you'd like and shoot some prs competitions. It's definitely a better place to live than salt lake or surrounding areas. But unfortunately it can get crowded with people from the northern end of the state during hunts.

Man some harsh comments on here. I live there, most hunting is going to be atlest an hour away. Pm me I'll get you my number, I'm happy to chat about it.

There’s definitely worse places in Utah. Along with the hunting and fishing it’s got a great golf course.

Not known for its hunting thats for sure. I did do a pronghorn hunt there in 2017 though. Got my animal third day. This was the "San Rafael North" unit. It was not easy, even by pronghorn standards. Very, very few animals. Supposedly theres Elk in that unit but from what i saw i cant see how.
It has a nice fairly new Ramada though. Could not believe how expensive it was though, wow
I didnt try it but a friend told me theres a very good shooting range there, dont recall where exactly.
I think he said many of the milk jug challenges are done there. could be wrong

Don't think I would pick to live in Price, but you can make do. If you like to offroad/dirtbike plenty of places. Can go up on the mountain fairly easy but far from everything else. Definitely not a pretty place. At least you lived in GJ and sort of know the high desert climate.
