Pressure signs from suppressor?

Being that velocity is the same I think you got smoke condensation in your chamber causing bolt thrust issues. This happens to me in the winter. For range shooting I’ll use a fan after a quick string and don’t have issues.

Not saying some of the other stuff above couldn’t be going on too. But I’m not suprised anymore when here in wi during winter if it’s damp enough out with a head wind. I just know I may get some bolt thrust issues going on.

Load a string of 10 at 40 grains and see what it does

Right on time with that reply in reference to my just-now-above post....

I had some head scratching, mild pressure signs the other day with factory ammo in a new 22cm barrel shooting suppressed.

The chamber seemed more smokey than I expected or had noticed before and there was greasy soot on the brass. I thought I maybe kicked some snow up and introduced some moisture.

I’m guessing similar conditions here in Iowa. I did notice more smoke coming from my chamber and had residue on my bolt where I don’t typically have some. Suppressor virgin so trying to figure out what’s normal

This thread has me thinking....

Are certain suppressors with specific form factors (length/baffle style/quality, etc) more prone to this?

Yes. Extremely aggressive cans do show issues in high humidity and hot loads than most others.

Hornady ammo?

The suppressor has a wider hole down it than the barrel does. How would a suppressor increase pressure above the chamber pressure?
